Call for Nominations: Little Portugal Toronto BIA Board of Management
BOARD OF MANAGEMENT NOMINATIONS 2027–2030 TERM
The Little Portugal Toronto BIA is accepting nominations from eligible BIA members for the 2027–2030 Board of Management.
Serving on the Board is a significant responsibility and requires a meaningful commitment of time, participation and accountability to the BIA membership. Board members are expected to take an active role in the governance and ongoing work of the organization.
BOARD COMMITMENT
Board members are expected to:
- Attend and actively participate in regular Board meetings
- Attend subcommittee meetings and working groups
- Review meeting materials and prepare for Board discussions and decisions
- Contribute to BIA events, programs and initiatives
- Participate in decisions relating to the BIA's strategic direction, priorities and finances
- Work collaboratively with other Board members, staff, businesses and community partners
- Contribute additional time and expertise when required
For the upcoming term, the BIA requires Board members who are prepared to take on significant responsibilities, including Do West Fest planning and oversight and Treasurer and financial responsibilities.
NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must complete and submit the Board of Management Nomination Form by:
Monday, November 16, 2026 at 5:00 PM
Nominations will not be accepted from the floor at the AGM.
All nominations are subject to eligibility review before the Annual General Meeting. Candidate information, including a brief biography, qualifications and photograph, may be shared with BIA members before the election.
ELECTION
The election of the 2027–2030 Board of Management will take place at the:

Thursday, November 26, 2026
If the number of eligible nominees does not exceed the number of available positions, the nominees may be presented to the membership as a slate for approval. If there are more eligible nominees than available positions, an election will be conducted at the AGM.
BEFORE YOU SUBMIT
Please carefully consider the time, responsibilities and level of participation required before putting your name forward. Board membership requires an ongoing commitment beyond attendance at regular meetings.
